Cipala Tops ND MotoClimb
L
ogan Cipala continued his
dominance in the AMA IRC
Motoclimb Super Series, Pre-
sented by Monster Energy, by
winning his fourth consecutive
overall at the Brick Mine, July
2-3. The Eagle Ridge Motorcycle
Club hosted the penultimate
round on a 750-foot-long hill in
Walhalla, North Dakota, where
the hill condition was rougher
than expected.
The 450cc qualifier saw only
10 athletes make it over with a
successful time, with the remain-
der getting a footage for a score.
The hill washed out a bit during
the winter and was drier than ex-
pected, making it a very difficult
and tough hill to crest.
Logan Cipala won both the
450cc qualifier and main event,
where he squared off with local
rider Mitch Dahl in the bracket
final.
Harold Waddell won the 700cc
class and Open class on his
custom Suzuki machines. Cipala
finished second in the Open class
on his Buell 1190 HCR, and Kirk
Mueller finished third for his first
MSS podium aboard a KTM 1190.
Cipala ended up winning the
event overall, with Waddell finish-
ing second and Dahl finishing
third.
The final MSS round takes
place at the Wiseco Shootout in
Bay City, Wisconsin, July 9-10.
