Hunter's consistency looked solid on paper but ended up biting him after the checkers flew as Shimoda's 1-3 ultimately gave him the overall ahead of Hunter. Hunter took over the red plate due to Jett's mechanical and ninth place overall. Hunter now leads the title hunt by seven over his younger brother, Jett. "The first moto, I was sit- ting behind Jett, trying to leave "In moto two, my start wasn't great, and then I got caught up with some riders on the first lap, which put me outside the top 20.
