two saw Barcia grab a holeshot
and the early lead before set-
tling in and taking third. This is
Barcia's first podium of the year
and seemed to come out of
nowhere.
Barcia is still seventh in the
overall standings. "It was quite
a wild day but a great day to be
on the podium; it's been a while
and much needed," Barcia said.
"Qualifying wasn't ideal, but
looking forward to it."
Justin Barcia somehow put
it on the box with an 8-3 score.
His inside gate picks paid off
with good starts both times
out and even a holeshot in the
second moto. While running

RYDER D
Ryder Difrancesco made his long-awaited
professional debut at RedBud, finishing
just outside the top 10 with 14-12 finishes.
The rookie grabbed the holeshot in moto
two and showed some pace with the front
group before fading back as the race
wore on. Difrancesco will likely drop back
down to amateurs for his final trip to the
Loretta Lynn Ranch before officially join-
ing the Pro ranks later this summer.
THE MASTER
Ty Masterpool returned to action at
RedBud and made his presence known
by leading a stint of moto two. He
had a good fight in both races, riding
a sticker-less KTM to sixth overall by
finishing 8-8 on the day.
MOTO COMBINE
RedBud marked the first round of the
2022 Moto Combine, a chance for ama-
teur riders to race a "real" outdoor track
under the guidance of former pros like
Chad Reed, Michael Byrne, Broc Glover
and Jeff Stanton. Star Racing Yamaha's
Haiden Deegan was the day's big winner,
going 1-1 with nearly 30 seconds to spare
in both motos.
