SUPERSPORT
If Gagne enjoyed a couple of
processional victories in the Su-
perbike class, Warhorse HSBK
Racing Ducati NYC rider Josh
Herrin did his best to emulate
his former teammate by crushing
the opposition in the Supersport
class.
In the first year for the Pani-
gale V2 in MotoAmerica Super-
sport, Herrin's taken two clean
sweeps as he padded out his
championship lead to a whop-
ping 68 points over Yamaha's
Rocco Landers with Vision
Wheel M4 Ecstar Suzuki's Tyler
Scott holding down third in his
rookie year at 103, 71 points
behind Herrin.
The only blight on Herrin's
Washington book was Landers
beating him to pole position, but
the youngster couldn't hang with
veteran Herrin in race one as he
took the flag 2.5 seconds in ar-
rears. Landers, in turn, was two
seconds up on Vision Wheel M4
Ecstar Suzuki rider, Sam Lochoff
with Kevin Olmedo (N2 Rac-
ing/BobbleHeadMoto Yamaha)
fourth, half a second up on Scott
in fifth.
Race two was a Herrin walk in
the park as he took the holeshot
and danced away to an easy
better of Stock 1000 rival Corey
Alexander for seventh. Barbera's
teammate PJ Jacobsen was a
lonely ninth and David Anthony,
who was a substitute for the
injured Jake Lewis after his
race-one crash, took 10th on the
second Vision Wheel M4 Ecstar
Suzuki.
Gagne has now closed to
within 11 points of Petrucci in the
championship, 176 to 165, while
MYOWNRACE
on, and now we're back in the points
lead, which is pre y surreal. Moving
forward, I just want to keep doing the
same thing. I just want to keep pushing
the envelope and trying to win more
races. If we win more races, then the
championship will come. Really excited
to be up here with Travis (Wyman) again.
That's our goal. We want to be one and
two every weekend, whether it's him or
I. Everyone puts a lot of effort into this
team. It's a big structure, for sure."
Danilo Petrucci tried all
he knew but couldn't stop
the Yamahas in race one.
