up to fourth at 106 points, but
he still has a mountain to climb if
he's to catch Quartararo.
Moto2
Augusto Fernandez won a
straight brawl of a Moto2 race
at Assen, the Spaniard taking
his Red Bull KTM Ajo Kalex to
Victory Lane ahead of Ai Ogura
(Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) and
Inde GasGas Aspar Team rider
Jake Dixon.
Fernandez's ride had him in
front for the majority of the race,
but it was never a comfortable
lead as he headed a freight train
of riders including Bo Bendsney-
der (Pertamina Mandalika SAG
Team), Alonso Lopez (MB Con-
veyors Speed Up), Tony Arbolino
(Elf Marc VDS Racing Team), Al-
bert Arenas (Inde GasGas Aspar
Team) and the American Racing
Team's Cameron Beaubier.
At the start of lap 21, Beaubier
crashed out of fifth position as
he came under pressure from
Vietti, and Arenas would also
crash out on the penultimate lap
while in podium contention.
American Joe Roberts strug-
gled to match the pace of the
front running five, ending the
race eighth.
In the series, Vietti and Fernan-
dez are now tied for the lead on

possibility of changing how points
are awarded in the series, Fabio
Quartararo said, "I think qualifying
is good because it's only a few laps
and then we decide in the race, as
I think this is quite a mythical part
of a weekend. So, I think about
sprint race is not a great idea.
Maybe the only thing I can say is
put an extra point like Formula One
for the fastest lap of the race. The
print race is giving a nice show, but
with how intense MotoGP is at the
moment I don't see myself to do a
race on Saturday and be ready for
the Sunday."

this in Moto2, but Augusto Fernandez
(37) kept his head cool for the win.
