Lettenbichler Wins
Erzbergrodeo Hard Enduro
G
ermany's Manuel Lettenbi-
chler earned his first Red Bull
Erzbergrodeo Hard Enduro win.
The Red Bull KTM rider led from
early on and completed the course
in two hours, 58 minutes, and 51
seconds. Sherco's Mario Roman
finished second, three minutes
and 26 seconds behind. Cana-
dian Trystan Hart rounded out the
podium on his Red Bull KTM, he
was 13 minutes and two seconds
behind the winner, Lettenbichler.
Lettenbichler was the leader
for most of the race, which meant
that he had to break in the trail
in several new sections of the
course. This allowed Austrian
Michael Walkner to keep it close
in the first half of the race until he
lost a lot of time in the infamous
Carl's Dinner section.
Spain's Roman, moved into sec-
ond at the midpoint and managed
to close to within sight of Lettenbi-
chler a couple of times on difficult
sections, but Lettenbichler man-
aged to hold the lead and open a
small gap before the finish line.
"The Highway almost killed
me," Lettenbichler said. "I was
the first guy in there and there
were literally no lines [to ride],
I had to dig some lines and put
some trees up, because it was
really difficult, and I made it a little
bit easier for the rest. The race
almost killed me in this point."
But the German held on to
win. It marked a first-ever vic-
tory for "Mani" and also marked
the first father-son duo to win
the race, as his father, Andreas
Lettenbichler's won the Erzber-
gRodeo in 2015.
"Oh man, I am feeling definitely
exhausted now, it was such a
hard push," Lettenbichler contin-
ued. "I am completely over the
moon. It has always been on the
list, and I have been so close the
