the gate drop we were sprinting
the whole moto. Third place was
36 seconds behind us, and I
set the fastest lap of the race on
the last lap. I'll get him back next
time and there will be many more
good motos like that one."
Jo Shimoda got back on the
box. The Kawasaki rider now
has two third-place overall fin-
ishes, including Hangtown. He
fought hard in the first moto to
get past his teammate, Ham-
maker, and solidify his spot on
the box and did the same in
moto two to finish fifth and keep
his podium hopes alive. After
the race Shimoda mentioned
a "sickness" that hindered his
race, saying, "I had no energy to
push at all."
