Raga, Bou Trade Andorra TrialGP Wins

RRS' Adam Raga and Rep-
sol Honda's Toni Bou traded
victories at round two of the FIM
TrialGP Championship in Andorra,
June 18-19. Raga got things
started with the win Saturday, and
defending champ Bou bounced
back for the win on Sunday.
Following a high-scoring open-
ing lap, Raga led the 15-time
champ by seven marks before
sealing the deal with a second-
lap total of 12 that was easily the
best of the trial.
"I'm very happy because I rode
my best and had a very good
second lap and pushed to the end
to take the victory," said Raga. "I
have a good feeling now after not
a perfect result at the first round."
"I think we were competitive
in the second lap, but not in the
first lap," Bou said. "We lacked
that 'extra bit'. Second position
is a positive result towards the
championship."
Bou came out of the gate
swinging on Sunday. Though
he struggled with a couple of
sections, so did his opponents
but more so. Bou rode a solid
second loop to secure the victory
with room to spare. It was Bou's
200th career championship win,
including X-Trials.
Raga, Saturday's winner, was
off the pace after his opening
lap, but he pulled it together on
lap two to end the day 10 marks
behind Bou in second.
"I'm very happy with how the
day went," Bou said. "Yesterday
was a tough trial but today was
too, and we have been able
to snatch a very important win
towards the championship. In ad-
dition, achieving my 200th World
Championship win here in Andor-
ra, including indoor and outdoor,
makes it all the more thrilling."
Raga was second on the day.
In the championship, Bou
leads Raga by 11 points, 83-74.
Vertigo's Jaime Busto, third both
days in Andorra, is third with 59
points.
