LOOKING BACK
In this classic cover photo, CN Senior Editor Dale Brown caught
Danny "Magoo" Chandler with his goggles down in the first moto
during the 500cc USGP at Carlsbad 40 years ago. Chandler won the
moto and then finished fifth in the second moto, but that was good
enough for the overall victory. Points leader Brad Lackey finished a
close second overall; Broc Glover won the 250cc support race...
Mike Baldwin out-dueled Eddie Lawson for the win at the Loudon
AMA National Road Race... We featured an interview with motocrosser
Darrell Shultz... Johnny O'Mara won the 125cc Swiss MXGP.
