VOL. 50 ISSUE 30 JULY 30, 2013 A derailed chain derailed Ryan Dungey's hopes for a fifth win at his home track. points in the moto at this point, he headed back to the pits to prepare for the second moto. Tomac, who saw Roczen on the ground, methodically worked his way up to second after starting of around tenth. By the halfway point, he was moving in on the rookie Martin. Urged on by the home crowd, Martin tried to hold off Tomac, but when Tomac is on – and he was definitely on this day – My Own Race: 1 RYAN DUNGEY 3RD (5-1) 450 After winning every race he entered at Millville for the last five years, Ryan Dungey came into his home track looking for another win. A derailed chain in the first moto, however, ruined his chances, but more importantly, he won the second moto and gained valuable points on series leader Ryan Villopoto. "I didn't lose big points today and actually gained a few so that was good, but Trey [Canard] and Justin [Barcia] were riding good today," Dungey said. "I just wish I could have capitalized on Villopoto's crash and could have made up some more points. I love this track and me and James battled - it was fun." 29 ANDREW SHORT 6TH (7-8) 450 BTO Sports.com/KTM's Andrew Short was up in the mix for most of the day and felt like he took a big step forward. "I felt the track was more hard-pack than normal and it wasn't as deep as it has been in the past, and I rode pretty good out there," "Shorty" said. "I haven't put two good motos together for a while, so this was much better. The bike has made some big improvements, especially in the suspension area with RG3 Suspension, and we just need to keep making improvements from here." 57 BEN LAMAY 14TH (16-14) 450 After missing several of the first few rounds with a knee injury, Rock River Yamaha's Ben Lamay had his best result of the year with a 14th overall. "It was my best ride this year," said the Alaskan who is still racing the 2013 YZ450F. "I've ridden a '14, but I'm not going to change my program at all P47 Briefly... "Not what I was looking for today," he said. "I lost my front brake in the first moto and had to stop for new goggles in the second moto. So just some issues I need to get through." MyPlash/Metal Mulisha/Star Racing Yamaha's Kyle Cunningham also had a dismal day when he lost his seat in the first moto and blew up his bike in the second moto. Cunningham is still ninth in points with three rounds to go. right now. The knee is good, it's not 100 percent, and I'll probably get it fixed after the season." 33 JOSH GRANT 11TH (4-35) 450 44 DARRYN DURHAM 34 JUSTIN BOGLE 6TH (5-6) 250 JGRMX/Toyota Yamaha's Josh Grant was recovering from a double ear infection during the week of Millville but that didn't stop him from a great result in the first moto. "Top five is always the goal and fortunately I'm riding better lately," he said. Grant had another great start in the second moto but went down hard in the sand whoops and was seeing stars once he got going again. He pulled off after a few laps. 12TH (10-15) 250 Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Darryn Durham didn't get the starts he wanted, which resulted in less-thanexpected overall results. "I got a 10th the first moto and made some passes along the way so that was okay," he said. "In the second moto, I got pushed off the start and had to take the fire-road access with Adam Cinciarulo and got back on the track in, like, 30th. That was definitely the slow route." GEICO Honda's Justin Bogle, who missed the entire Supercross Series with a wrist injury, is starting to pick up the pace as of late. At Millville, he went 5-6 and was in the mix up front most of the day. "I'm getting more consistent and just need a little more speed," he said. "I got decent starts today and getting bike time under my belt is the biggest thing. The goal is to improve every weekend, and the last few weeks I have been doing that." Bogle sits in seventh in the series championship after nine rounds.
