One rider who has committed to competing in the inaugural Basic Twins race at
Springfield is Jason Isennock. The 26-yearold, who recently claimed victory at the
Hagerstown Half Mile, has a motorcycle being built for the Basic Twins race.
"I'm super excited about this and think
AMA Pro Racing is making a good call," said
Isennock. "My [Basic Twins] bikes aren't
quite built yet for it, but they're on the way
and we'll have them running for the Spring-

The 2013 Leroy Winters Memorial International Six Days
Trial (ISDT) Reunion Ride will
be held on August 24-25 in
the Berkshires Hills of Mas-
field events. I think it's a great idea for the Pro Singles to be able to get comfortable with the twincylinder motorcycles without competing against
the Grand National Experts. I really think this is a
great thing for the Pro Singles."
HISTORY IN THE MAKING
Wayne Gardner leads
Christian Sarron during
the historic event held at
Spa-Francorchamps in
Belgium.
T
hree days of blue skies and a
mouth-watering array of more
than 500 historic bikes in action on the legendary 4.352-mile
Spa-Francorchamps circuit in
southern Belgium left the 40,000
spectators who attended the 11th
running of continental Europe's
leading historic-bike event on July

sachusetts. This event will
mark the 40th Anniversary
of the first U.S. ISDT (19732013) held in Dalton, Massachusetts, and the 100th Anniversary of the first ISDT held
in 1913 at Carlisle, England.
"This is the best old-bike event
I've been to yet," said Keith Ashton from south London, one of
the huge contingent of British
fans who made the trip. "The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed,
yet it's all really well run, and to
see what amounted to a proper

banks."
Former 500cc World Champion Wayne Gardner also had rave
comments about the event.
"What a wonderful event,"
smiled Gardner. "Everything went
so smoothly, and the response of
the crowd was great, too."
Surprisingly, Gardner did not
ride the Honda NSR500 he was
billed to take part on, but a Yamaha YZR500 formerly raced by
Christian Sarron – his first-ever
ride on one of the rival bikes he
competed against in 1986. For
Gardner it was an unusual experience: "It doesn't have the power
of the Honda NSR500 I rode that
year, but it handles beautifully."
Gardner, Sarron, Isle of Man
TT hero Steve Plater and surprise addition and current Moto2
Championship leader Scott Redding put up a great show for the
fans, battling for the "win" in the
10-lap "race" narrowly won by
Plater, who had the advantage
