in Moore, Oklahoma, due to a contract dispute between the NMA and the
Ponca City track owners, the AMBUCS.
Left with a racetrack and no race, the
AMBUCS continued the longstanding
tradition and put on its own Ponca City
finals, and, understandably, the division
left both events way down on entries.
This year, the Ponca City race saw
about 500 entries, which is down from
the 1200 the race normally pulled in before the split. The race in Moore drew
about 300 entries this year, so it appears that some riders and teams decided to skip Oklahoma altogether and
