It's taken eight rounds but the real Pedro Acosta has finally stood up, the Spanish teenage sensation putting on a masterclass at Mugello for his first win in the intermediate category. The 2021 Moto3 World Cham- pion had just celebrated his 18th birthday and led almost all of the 21 laps around Mugello, achiev- ing redemption after crashing out of first position at Le Mans. ESPARGARO, VINALES RENEW Two major pieces fell into place in the MotoGP jigsaw for 2023 as Aprilia confirmed the contract renewals of current riders Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales. Both riders have signed deals to stay with the Noale factory until the end of 2024. The current lineup has carried Aprilia to the top of the Team's Championship for the first time in the factory's history with seven races gone. Company CEO Massimo Rivola said the factory didn't consider other names for the seats, despite Suzuki's surprise withdrawal at the end of the year, and Espargaro's contract passe, which went on from April to May.
