Oliveira Brothers Roll On At Utah WORCS T he Rocky Mountain ATV/MC WORCS Series held its final race before its summer break at the Three Peaks Oasis center in Cedar City, Utah, May 28-29, where racers were greeted with a five-mile racetrack that took the pros roughly nine minutes to complete. The Oliveira broth- ers, Dante and Mateo, took top honors in the Pro 450 and Pro 250 classes, respectively, aboard their KTM machines. Collier Martinez took the Pro-Am win and Brandy Richards topped Saturday's Women Pro race. The Pro 450 and 250 classes lined up together, giving fans the first glimpse of Dante and Mateo starting side by side for the two- hour moto. Austin Walton (Factory Rock- star Husqvarna) pulled the holeshot, as both Tyler Lynn and Dante Oliveira settled in right be- hind him after the first turn. Lynn, however, passed Walton later the first lap but had some minor bike issues that required a quick pit stop with his Precision Concepts Kawasaki team. He quickly got things fixed and headed back out on the course. This allowed Oliveira to slide in behind Walton, as they battled hard for a few laps. Walton tried to hold off the points leader, but Oliveira eventu- ally made the pass and set sail for the win. Birthday boy Dare Demartile, who started near the back of the pack after the dead-engine start, made his way through the dust and up to second place. The Beta rider put on a show as he charged hard all way to the end and even had Oliveira in his sights by the time the checkered flag came out. Second place was his best finish at a WORCS event and the best pro finish for Fac- tory Beta Racing at any WORCS event. Lynn also fought his way back IN THE WIND P38 Dante Oliveira ran off with the win at the Utah round of the WORCS Championship. PHOTOS: CONNOR MOORE
