ROUNDS 4-5 / MAY 28-29, 2022 THE RED MILE I & II / LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY P104 FLAT TRACK I PROGRESSIVE AMERICAN FLAT TRACK Whale going from the ground to the box in third. Kopp took fourth to maintain his points lead while Brunner completed the top five. PRODUCTION TWINS The Wally Brown Racing KTM 890 Duke project went from curiosity to imposing beast in a matter of a day. With 2020 Mis- sion Production Twins Champion James Rispoli at the controls, the still-raw package completely dominated in its maiden voyage. Following that impressive debut (and arguably even more impressive Mission SuperTwins showing), the expectations were for a similar performance on Sunday. nson Racing Yamaha's Trevor Brunner got into the back of Mischler early in the contest, but both men stayed upright and inline. A couple minutes later, Brunner did the same to Kopp's KTM teammate Max Whale, who wasn't so lucky. A red flag waved as Whale was dumped off his bike and sent up into the air-fence. Whale and Brunner were slot- ted at the back of the field for the restart, but somehow both slashed their way up to the lead seven-rider pack as the final lap opened. 2019 class champion Dalton Gauthier executed a perfect strike on teammate Mischler to earn the win with Australian SINGLES The Parts Unlimited AFT Singles class and mile tracks always de- liver, be it action, unpredictability, drama or a dash of chaos. That proved true once again at the Red Mile. Saturday's main event saw Turner Racing Honda's Morgen Mischler hold off title rival Kody Kopp on the Red Bull Factory KTM by 0.053 seconds at the flag. Four other riders were within a half-second of the win, led by Mission Foods/Al Lamb's Dallas Honda's Trent Lowe, who earned his first podium of the season in the process. But the wow factor increased exponentially on Sunday. Este- Morgen Mischler (13) edged out Kody Kopp (behind Max Whale, 18) by 0.053 seconds to win Saturday night's Singles final. Dalton Gauthier (79) ended up fifth.
