SX Global Confirms First Four Race Teams S X Global announced the first four of 10 teams that have committed to participate in its new FIM-sanctioned World Supercross Championship Se- ries, which is scheduled to get underway in September with up to four rounds. Two of the teams committing are based in the U.S.—MotoCon- cepts Honda and Pipes Motors- ports Group. Though the riders haven't been officially named, Vince Friese and Justin Brayton could possibly make up the Mo- toConcepts effort. Pipes Motorsports Group currently runs the Twisted Tea/ HEP Motorsports Suzuki Team headed by manager Dusty Pipes. The other two teams—Bud Racing Kawasaki and GSM Yamaha—are both based out of France. "All four of these teams bring a level of experience, credibility, and operational and competitive excellence, necessary to de- livering the highest levels of competition to fans around the world; and we could not be more excited to award them licenses," said Adam Bailey, Managing Director – Motorsport of SX Global. "As we embark on our inaugural pilot season, it's criti- cal that each of our teams bring a spirit of collaboration in the broader effort to drive our sport forward and expand its relevance across the globe, and that's ex- actly the case for each of these teams and owners." The FIM World Supercross Championship is expected to take place annually in the sec- ond half of the year, including up to four events in 2022, from late September through Novem- ber. 2022 will serve as a "pilot" season, allowing the champion- ship to establish itself and build momentum going into 2023. From 2023, and subsequent years, the FIM World Supercross Championship hopes to expand annually between June and November, with up to 12 events in 2023.
