O'Halloran Doubles Up At Donington BSB J ason O'Halloran (McAMS Ya- maha) captured a pair of wins at the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Donington Park, May 21-22. Halloran finished a close second to Kyle Ryde (Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha) in the first sprint race but went on to win races two and three. The sprint race was a thriller with Hyde nipping O'Halloran at the flag by 0.038 seconds. Ryde led O'Halloran into Roberts Chicane on the final lap as the pair were nearly side by side, and it was a drag to the line between the pair in a dramatic finish with Ryde taking the win. Points leader Bradley Ray, Rory Skinner and O'Halloran all had their moment up front, but Ryde had other ideas as he worked his way to the front and captured his first win of the season. O'Halloran, still looking for his first win of the year, took second followed by Ray. Skinner ended up seventh. O'Halloran, however, didn't have to wait long to get that first win, as he, Ray and Lee Jackson (Cheshire Mouldings FS-3 Kawa- saki) gapped the rest of the field in race two. In the closing stages, the "O'Show" (O'Halloran) had the pace to stay ahead of Ray as he took his first win for McAMS Ya- maha since Silverstone last year. In race three, O'Halloran chased down Ray in the closing laps. He attacked Ray on lap 17 and was able to hold off Ray for his second win of the weekend. Jackson finished third, followed by Skinner and Ryde. Ray leads the championship by 28 points over O'Halloran with Jackson another five points back in third. CN RACE 1 1. Kyle Ryde (Yam) 2.
