The Greenhorn Enduro was featured 50 years ago in Cycle News. The
popular enduro held in the Southern California desert was notorious for its
high DNF rate. Just finishing was a major accomplishment... We featured
a story on the Desert Daisies motorcycle club made up entirely of female
desert motorcycle racers... We covered the U.S. Cup Motocross at Carlsbad
Raceway, where Kawasaki teammates Brad Lackey and John DeSoto
battled fiercely for the win. It was too close to tell but Lackey got the nod.
