Mick Doohan won the Spanish Grand Prix and was featured on the
cover 30 years ago... We had some of the first photos of Supercross, and
250 and 500cc National Motocross Championship Jean-Michel Bayle
practicing aboard a factory-backed Honda RS250 at the Magney-Cours
circuit in France. Bayle was soon to make his road racing debut at the
French GP... Scott Parker dominated the San Jose Mile... Jeff Stanton
won the 250cc National Motocross at
Southwick; Larry Ward topped the
125cc class... Terry Cunningham
won the Little Raccoon Classic
National Enduro in Ohio.

Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart got the 2002 Motocross
National Championship season started with wins at Glen Helen
Raceway. Carmichael won the 250cc class and Stewart the 125cc
class... Troy Bayliss aced both legs of the World Superbike round at
Monza... Ty Davis topped the Sugarloafers Hare & Hound National
at Jericho... Destry Abbott and Shane Esposito teamed up and
won the Best in the Desert Silver State Vegas 150... We featured an
interview with Fast By Ferracci Husqvarna rider Steve Lamson.

banquet in 2002. Reed won the 125cc
