LOOKING BACK
Terry Vance was pictured on the cover of Cycle News 40 years ago
for winning the Southern National in Atlanta... The AMA 250cc/500cc
National MX Championship visited Southwick, where Donnie Hansen
topped the 250cc class, and Kent Howerton won the opening round of
the 500cc Championship... Ricky Graham broke the track record en
route to winning the Springfield Mile; Graham averaged 101 mph in the
race... Terry Cunningham edged out Jack Penton to win the Fool's Gold
Enduro in California... Georges Jobe won the 250cc MX GP in Belgium.

The look on Gunnar Lindstrom's face says it all after racing the opening
round of the National Cup Motocross Series at Sacramento's Cal Expo
Fairgrounds. Yes, it was a hot one. Lindstrom won the 250cc Pro class,
while Brad Lackey won the Open class... Many of the stars of flat track
made their weekly Friday night pilgrimage to Ascot Park, this time it was
Dave Aldana taking the win... We had full coverage of the CERA Fool's
Gold Enduro from Georgetown, California.
