Hunziker in second. ori the second lap disaster
struck Piper as he went into il rutted comer,
and his tires took two different ruts, throwing
him to the ground. Hunziker saw Piper's
miscue, avoided the fallen rider and took the
lead. Piper was up quickly and began working
his way back towards the front from ninth
place. He soon caught Baudoin, but took two
laps to get by him as Hunziker increased his
lead. Hunziker cruised in for both the moLO

Eppers awesome at Fossil
Bowl Motocross
By Butch Phamess
CLARKIA, !D, AUG. 30
Anthony Eppers put the Junior Mini class
com~tition in their place at round 11 of the
FossIl Bowl Race Series.
Moto one saw Nathan Allen pull the
holeshot. Allen went the wrong way on the
start, but it didn't hurt him too much, because
half the class followed him. Allen still got
turned around and came out in first. Anthony
Eppers was a sport and gave everybody a head
start on him, but by the second lap he was
knocking on Allen's door. Allen left the door
open and Eppers made the big pass, putting
him in first. Leighron Lillie kept the heat on
Allen, trying everything he could to get by.
Allen made a mental mistake and down he
went, letting Lillie slip by for second place.
Way back in a solid fourth, was Honda'ItIounted Stephen Berger, riding a consistent
race. Eppers went on to finish first with Lillie,
Allen, Berger and Wright finishing second
through fifth, respectfully.
In moto two, Eppers once again gave
everyone a head start. Allen pulled the
holeshot this time and even went the correct
way. Allen had Lillie pn his back as Lillie
was riding like a man on a mission. Back in
the pack was Eppers, who was on his own
little missio~.
By lap two, Eppers was knocking on Allen's
door. Once again, he found his way by Allen
for the lead. Lillie was also trying to get by
Allen, but Allen was not about to let him.
Eppers went on to win with Allen, Lillie,
Berger, and Chris Brannan rounding out the
top five.
Dustin Pharness put in two excellent first
place moLO finishes on his Bill's Cycle Center/
Heads Up Designs-sponsored Honda for first
overall in the 80cc 9-11 year-old class.

first in a matter of seconds. Once in the lead,
Brant never looked back. Manchester rode in
second but was losing ground lap by lap.
Schwartz' line seemed to completely frustrate
Faria, who sooir gave up hope of catching
the leaders and accepted fourth place.
After four rounds of qualifiers, with two
