MYOWNRACE
ning wide because of it. That just forced
me back into the pack. So, I just started
riding hard, had some more false neutrals,
yo-yoing with a few guys, catching them
and going wide with a false neutral, etc.,
and having to catch back up again. Then I
calmed down and made sure I was shi ing
as hard as I could and I saw a couple guys
go down in front of me and was content
with salvaging a fourth, as I knew we had
pace to be on the podium, no doubt. I'm
not sure what happened with the crash,
whether it was a gust of wind, or I went
harder into the corner than previously or
what, but I lost the front on the long right
and it was a pre y tough corner the whole
race with the wind, so I was caught out. So
obviously right now, I'm super disappoint-
ed and bummed at the moment."
Suzuki's Alex Rins. Starting the final lap, Bastianini
had 1.6 seconds in his pocket, but Miller had just 0.3
seconds to Rins. Suzuki's Joan Mir was 1.3 seconds
off the podium scrap, Bagnaia was a lonely fifth with
Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) and Fabio Quartararo
(Monster Energy Yamaha) fighting it out for sixth.
Turn 11, Rins' favorite corner, saw the Suzuki man
get by. But Miller got his Ducati hooked up on the
straight, and the Aussie was back into second. Miller
was defending well, but Rins got a great run out of
turn 18, and at turn 19—the penultimate corner—Rins
was up the inside to steal second place from Miller,
who secured a first podium of the year in third.
