determination and fighting spirit,"
said Technical Manager Ken
Kawauchi. "Then both Alex and
Joan [Mir] got the best from
themselves and their bikes. It
was an excellent way to cel-
ebrate 500 podiums for Suzuki."
Mir almost made it two Suzu-
kis on the podium after finishing
fourth in Austin.

Wilson Injury Update
R
ockstar Energy Husqvarna's
Dean Wilson suffered a big
crash during the St. Louis Super-
cross, and it appears he will be
out of action for a while.
Wilson went down in the first
of three Triple Crown races in the
450SX class and was attended to
by the Alpinestars medical crew
for much of the race. He was
heavily bandaged before being
helped off the track.
Wilson reported the next morn-
ing that his motorcycle's footpeg
had caused a deep laceration in
his buttock area, which caused
heavy bleeding, saying he no-
ticed that he was lying in a pool of
blood. "There was just blood every-
where," he said. "The laceration was
10 inches deep, really, really deep."
Wilson said he underwent two sur-
geries and another one is planned.
"[I'm] bummed, feel like a massive
let down," he added. "But we will be
back once we are all healed up."
Wilson is currently eighth in the
450SX Championship.
