ROUND 13 / APRIL 9, 2022 AMERICA'S CENTER / ST. LOUIS MISSOURI P72 SUPERCROSS I MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES another week that is. The num- ber-three has been on a roll to say the least, winning the last five races in a row to tie Chad Reed for fourth overall on the all-time wins list. St. Louis was a bit dif- ferent, as the Tomac train didn't exactly plow through everyone like it has in the past half-dozen races. The train just kept chug- ging right along, taking the points leader to 4-4-1 finishes and third overall. It was almost unfamiliar to see Tomac off the podium in the first two races of the night, but he turned things around for race three. With his Yamaha having more "front-end grip" for the final race, Tomac kicked it up a notch and extended his lead late in the race as Musquin tried to close in. "It was the start," Tomac said, alluding to what helped him most in race three. "We did a little fork change, but it didn't matter, I put tion. He came out guns blazing to grab the first win of the night. Sexton holeshotted and cruised to victory in the 15-lap race, tak- ing the checkers four seconds over Musquin. His other two races were still consistent but a bit quieter, going 3-3 to close out the night. This consistency is what Sexton needs though, after crashing in a number of the recent races. "I just felt a lot more comfort- able, which I think showed," Sex- ton said. "That first start was really good, which I feel helped me in that first race but my starts kind of fell off in the second two races. Everyone was on it, so I had to catch back up in that third one." Another podium for Sexton puts him seventh overall in the championship. The records are going to have to wait for Eli Tomac. At least for MYOWNRACE bike just wasn't 100-percent fixed. Tough one, but we got to start back up in the third moto, and I had a good start and ended up passing for the lead. I led for a lap or two, but I made a few mistakes and ended up sixth." 21 JASON ANDERSON 4TH (6-2-5) 450SX "This weekend was a bit odd for me," said Jason Anderson. "I found it difficult to get into a rhythm during the race and lock into my flow state. I s ll did my best in each main event and gave it everything I had, so I'm proud of that. We also made up some ground in the championship hunt and gained another point over third." (Left) Jason Anderson wasted a good opportunity to earn back points on Tomac. (Right) Justin Barcia was consistent enough to land fifth overall with 5-4-4 results.
