Joan Mir made it two Suzuki's in the top four, with Francesco Bagnaia saving a bit of face for the factory Ducati team by taking fifth after qualifying 14th. Rounding out the top 10 was KTM's Brad Binder in sixth, Mav- erick Vinales with his best show- ing as an Aprilia rider in seventh ahead of World Champion Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), Marco Bez- zecchi with an impressive show- ing on the Mooney VR46 Ducati in ninth and Enea Bastianini (Ducati) rounding out the top 10. The result means Aprilia and Espargaro are now leading the World Championship for the first time in the company's history ahead of the Austin MotoGP next weekend. Espargaro sits at 45 points ahead of Binder at 38 and previous leader Bastianini drops to third with 36 points. ROUND 3 / APRIL 1-3, 2022 TERMAS DE RIO HONDO / ARGENTINA P58 MOTOGP I FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MYOWNRACE 4 SEAN DYLAN KELLY DNF MOTO2 A run-in with VR46 Racing's Nicco An- tonelli ended the race prematurely for American Racing's Sean Dylan Kelly. "This weekend has been the best I've felt on the bike so far, but I don't think that's reflected in the posi ons just yet," said Kelly who admi ed the crash was his fault. "If we look at the small objec ves in between, the laps and mes, we've improved a lot, so that's really important for us to take forward. In the race it was a big shame that it only lasted five corners a er coming together with Antonelli in turn five. I know this is racing, it's unfortunate but we take the posi ves onto Aus n. I went over to his team a er and said sorry to him and his crew. As we know in racing, especially first laps, anything can happen with dif- ferent lines and braking zones. But at the end of the day, I was the rider that went into him, so saying sorry is always the right thing to do." 23 ENEA BASTIANINI 10TH MOTOGP "We're not sa sfied with how today went," said Team Gresini Racing's Enea Bas anini who is third in the champion- ship. "We were not comfortable with the bike, and we lost the good feeling we had in the warmup this morning. We really didn't understand this race well. I did have Alex Rins put pressure on Martin late in the race, as well, but couldn't make the pass. He did, however, give Suzuki a podium finish.
