marched his way back through
the top five but just couldn't get
close enough at the line. He
took the checkers second only
1.43 seconds behind Lawrence.
He continues to hold a firm grip
on the series championship, a
full race-win ahead of second
place.
"Obviously, the red plate,
everyone wants that," Craig said.
"It's part of it—it happens. I was
a little bit fired up after the race
but its racing. I just got to move
for Lawrence this season, and
he cuts only a few points off
Craig's overall lead. Lawrence
is second in the championship
hunt, down 26 points.
Craig miraculously pulled off
a second-place finish after an
eventful night. The red-plate
holder holeshotted the 250SX
main event and led the open-
ing few laps. Michael Mosiman
came up the inside of Craig to
make an aggressive pass for
the lead which resulted in Craig

everything in his power to keep
the points chase alive.
"I had like two weeks off just
to let the body heal, I was a bit
banged up," Lawrence said.
"But [I] kept busy, it was good
we worked on a few things that
we felt needed to be better and
it was cool to put them into ac-
tion tonight."
