A lot of 17-year-old racers might not have
been able to resist the tempta on to strike
on the final lap with the possibility of a
win on the table. But, despite his young
age, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Kody
Kopp is a tle contender and ac ng like
it. He said, "It was a sketchy track tonight.
Everybody saw there were a bunch of
crashes. So just to come out tonight okay
was a bonus. To make a last-lap pass, it
was either going to end up with me and
'Merg' [Mischler] on the ground, or it
was going to go in my favor. I didn't want
to end up on the ground. Merg rode a
phenomenal race. He wasn't making any
mistakes which made it hard to pass."
