ROUND 2 / MARCH 19, 2022
TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY / FORT WORTH, TEXAS
P88
FLAT TRACK I PROGRESSIVE AMERICAN FLAT TRACK
Mischler got the holeshot and sim-
ply, yet vigorously, defended the low
line while avoiding any mistakes.
Estenson Racing Yamaha's Trevor
Brunner seemed to demonstrate
that unlikely charges were in fact
possible, slashing his way from the
third row and onto the rear wheel of
second-placed Max Whale's Red Bull
KTM. However, that aggressiveness
was also Brunner's undoing, as he
crashed from third and collected Wa-
ters Autobody Racing's Tanner Dean
in the process.
That incident brought out a red
flag, but Mischler successfully re-
sumed his defense of first following
the staggered restart. Rather than
take advantage of a second chance
to make a move at the start, Whale
found himself instead victimized,
passed by teammate Kody Kopp,
who was fresh off his domination of
the opening round in his Red Bull
KTM Factory Racing debut.
The three stayed in a tight grouping
to the flag. Kopp looked for any way
possible around Mischler but couldn't
find a way by without risking a crash
that could take them both out in the
attempt.
Mischler's Turner Racing team-
mate, Dalton Gauthier, finished fourth,
followed by 1st Impressions Services
of Florida's Michael Inderbitzin, who
edged Mission Foods/Al Lamb's Dal-
las Honda's Trent Lowe for fifth.
PRODUCTION TWINS
The evening storyline for defending
Mission Production Twins presented
by Vance & Hines champion Cory
Texter was essentially the same
as that of Jared Mees, only on the
Morgen Mischler (13) held
off last week's Singles
winner, Kody Kopp (12),
for the win.
Cory Texter got back
to his winning ways in
Production Twins.
