Mees was fast and decisive enough to quickly dart up the inside of holeshot winner JD Beach and steal away the lead early in the main event. He then spent the bulk of the race maintaining his gap at the front while staying out of trouble. Behind him, the Estenson Racing Yamahas continued to prove up to the task, whether on a thunderstorm-soaked track as they did in the opener, or on a slick track that struggled to hold its moisture as they did for their encore. Round-one winner Bauman pulled off some impressive maneuvers to work past Mission Roof Systems' Jarod Vanderkooi and rising star Dallas Daniels. But after applying pressure on Beach for second, Bauman found himself reeled back in by Daniels and, following some back-and-forth, dropped back down to fourth. With a little over a minute on the clock, Bauman went off the groove and dropped out of podium contention. At that point, a racy Daniels sought a clean way past Beach while the two Yamahas closed quickly on the once untouchable Mees. ROUND 2 / MARCH 19, 2022 TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY / FORT WORTH, TEXAS P84 FLAT TRACK I PROGRESSIVE AMERICAN FLAT TRACK MYOWNRACE 10 JOHNNY LEWIS 6TH PRODUCTION TWINS Following two par al seasons spent developing the Royal Enfield Twins FT, Moto Anatomy X's Lewis is finally expected to compete for a full season in 32 DALLAS DANIELS 3RD SUPERTWINS Only two races into his Mission Super- Twins career, Dallas Daniels is looking less like a class rookie and more like a rider who could win races in 2022. A er finishing a close third in Fort Worth, he said, "It was a great day here at Texas. I started off qualifying third and was able to advance into the dash for cash, even though I was a li le disappointed with the semi. Jared came by me like I was standing s ll, so I knew we had to figure something out for the main. And we did, but I got a terrible start. I kept making silly rookie mistakes, which I guess is normal, but we for sure had the speed to win tonight. The bike was handling great. I was ge ng killer drives off the corner, and, even with the mistakes I was making, I was able to make the gap up and get on Briar and JD. I almost passed JD for second, and we were reel- ing in Jared." Mees got out in front but had to hang on for the win at the end.
