MARCH 10-12, 2022 DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY / DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA P86 ROAD RACE I 80TH DAYTONA 200 game and sometimes it goes your way and sometimes it doesn't. "Honestly, when Sheridan and everybody started rolling out of the gap, I was a little bit like, 'I don't know where to put myself,' but I saw Hayes was up high, so I kind of cut below him. I was like, I'm in a prime spot. I'm behind the front two boys. Once they went, I was like, 'game time.' The Triumph pulls really hard when you go to the gas. So, I knew I was maybe going to have a chance at picking up mile-per-hour a little bit quicker It didn't work, and compatriot Petersen steamed past while Paasch, who had only stopped for fuel and not tires at his last stop, steamed past all of them, taking his second winner's Rolex in the process by a mere 0.007 seconds. "There were a few times I did try to draft them, and I couldn't get past," Paasch said. "I was a little bit nervous, and I was like, 'well, as long as we're in the fight at the end, there's nothing you can do about it.' It's Daytona. It's a drafting MYOWNRACE 2 JOSH HERRIN 10TH DAYTONA 200 "We were able to lead most of the me a er the red flag, but we stayed out a li le bit too long and ran out of fuel," Josh Herrin said. "Luckily it was enough to coast back in but we lost way too much me. We mounted up the so er res, so it basically turned into a 40-lap sprint race for me, which was difficult, but we could do the same lap me as the leader even without the dra , so that was posi ve. Obviously, we wanted to come here and win as there's a lot of effort for one race but it's a good test for the season. We'll leave here with our heads held high know- ing we had the pace to win." 69 DANNY ESLICK 6TH DAYTONA 200 "That was a pre y even ul race!" Danny Eslick said. "We didn't get a lot of laps over the weekend, which was tough with it being a 200-mile race. We didn't do more than eight laps a session. We had a marker of 18-19 laps for the pit stops and stretched it a bit too far and ran out of gas. When we had the race stopped early, we could put fuel in it, but no res and our strategy was to go as far as we could, we gambled and tried to go as far on fuel with older res and put fresh ones on for the finish, but it bit us in the ass in the end. Josh Herrin (2) led from the pole and the race quickly became a 200-mile sprint race with a train of riders 15 strong.
