ROUND 9 / MARCH 5, 2022 DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY / DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA P76 SUPERCROSS I MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES kept his title hopes alive in the process. McAdoo also men- tioned a minor knee injury he sustained in the heat race which made it more difficult to race in the main event. "My knee kind of bent super wrong and I lost my pegs," McA- doo said after the race. "After it had already tweaked backwards, my footpeg came up underneath my knee brace cup and dug into the bottom of my knee. At first, I was super concerned, I just had a knee injury over the summer. I had Dr. G come over and tape it up, but it swelled up a ton im- mediately, I think just from getting smashed ... it's strong and I don't think it's anything that's going to affect me long term." Cameron McAdoo rode with the red plate on Saturday night and fought hard for the final po- dium spot. A mistake in the first rhythm after the start dropped him back a few places which set the tone for his race. McAdoo put on a charge and battled all night with the likes of RJ Hamp- shire, Jordon Smith and Pierce Brown. It was one heck of a ride with McAdoo eventually besting the aforementioned riders. He passed Brown with only a few minutes left on the clock and second career podium, his sec- ond runner-up finish at Daytona. "[It] was pretty good," Robert- son said. "Coming off a podium here last year I felt pretty good, but the injuries have been hindering me a little. Honestly, I just felt good all day and there's just something I love about riding with a paddle [type] tire. Starts have been helping me a lot too, so I got a good start and just tucked in behind Jett." Robertson alluded to a pre- season injury that left him with a broken pelvis just weeks before the start of the 250SX East series. He said he was having RJ Hampshire looked strong and had some good battles at Daytona after his hard crash last week at Arlington.
