ROUND 8 / FEBRUARY 16, 2022 AT&T STADIUM / ARLINGTON, TEXAS P66 SUPERCROSS I MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES as he got the lead early on and never looked back. Race three again looked like a carbon copy of race one as Lawrence almost grabbed the holeshot only to slide out in the slick right-handed corner. He got going in the back of the pack and immediately began pick- ing off riders in similar fashion to race one. Lawrence worked his way up to Forkner and made an all-out pass as he swapped passed Forkner in the whoop section. The two hit the finish line in quick succession, but Lawrence tagged a Tuff Block in front of me and went down in front of the mechanics' area. I got back up and kept pushing and was able to make it to third in that race for second overall. It feels good to get on the po- dium." As usual Lawrence was the center of the action on Saturday night. A near holeshot in race one was spoiled after he fell in turn two and dropped back to almost last. He put on a charge in the 10-minute-plus-one-lap race and fought all the way back to fourth at the line. Race two looked like classic Lawrence set him back, but he was gifted two spots late in the race that ultimately secured his overall podium. "It was a bit of a rough day, to be honest," Martin said. "I got off to a decent start in the first race of the Triple Crown, but I had nowhere to go when a rider went down in front of me, and I had to make my way from last to ninth. The second one was bet- ter, and I finished second, just behind Jett. In the third race, I was ready to see what we could do to finish out the night. I went to make a pass and hit the guy Jett Lawrence won one race but a crash in the final race hurt his chances for the overall win. He settled for third.
