CN III VOICES P20 LETTERS TO THE EDITOR "I was laughing out loud so much I almost spilled my margi…" The Zero Now we can hack the sidecar setting? Seriously, who will offer a mega speaker kit, with an iPod/Android App to allow famous motorcycle sounds from the past? Zero would sell these things like hotcakes if the bike had the ability to instantly imitate any glorious exhaust note genre of the past, by matching the throttle setting to a carefully matched mp3 file. TZ250 anyone? Or how about a Norton Manx? How cool would it be to sound like an RE5 Wankel while gliding to a stop in front of your vintage friends? Gerry Alden Via Facebook Doohan It Well Love the shot of Mick Doohan in the last issue (Captured, Issue 27, July 9). It shows his classic seating position; hips pivoted forward, hanging off. He was fantastic and fun to watch. Jim Clausen Via the Internet Change Of Heart In regard to Michael Scott's "In the Paddock" (Issue 27, July 9): Excuse me, Michael Scott! Hmmm. Maybe you're right. Paul Ward Durban, South Africa In last week's issue, Ward defended Lorenzo and his ride to fifth place in the Dutch GP while riding injured. When Lorenzo crashed again in Germany, Ward had a change of heart… Editor Super Man Lorenzo A concussion (brain injury) is far different than a bone break. I've had a brain injury (cracked skull). That's how I know. Different individuals have different pain thresholds. No way I could do what Jorge Lorenzo did, but there are some who can handle it. If a rider goes out and takes a chance only he is responsible for what happens next. He should know if he can handle the injury that way or not. If he tries to do it and can't cut the mustard, he can pull off the track any time he feels it's time. Randy Dawes Via Facebook Letter From Camp (Cheers) So here I am… my fiancé is outta town and I have to work on financial spreadsheets tonight but, since I don't cook (the girl spoils me rotten), I stopped at a restaurant in Rosarito (you know I live in Mexico, right?) to eat and relax a bit before I pull a boring allnighter for those "know-it-all" bankers. So dragged in the laptop and pulled up the latest Cycle News (off-line - thanks for adding race results) and started to go through the book. Well, after margarita number one (Hornitos, no mix, fresh limes only and sweet, please), I started to read the recap of your recent Texas Tornado Boot Camp visit ("Letter From Camp," Issue 28, July 16) and I gotta say it was a classic! I was laughing out loud so much I almost spilled my margi (a crime)! A classic! So funny and so true in so many ways. Guns/Texas, Boot Camp/ Riding, Colin stories as well as all the Pommie references that I'm sure your dad loved. Congrats, my friend, that was one of the classics of motojournalism. Gotta go, Margi number two is here (priorities)! Bill Berroth Via the Internet Got An Opinion? If you've got an opinion on something you've read in Cycle News.
