One big mistake forced Tomac to slow through the midpoint of the whoops, virtually handing the win to Anderson." "I cased the triple after the double and was like 'Gosh darn it,' and he [Anderson] got back underneath me," Tomac said. "But yeah, I kept going and then made one mistake in the whoops and then moved my lines around and that was it. I felt like that was a strong point early on but then I lost it. But there was strong riding from Jason, too, he didn't really make any mistakes after that." Tomac maintains the points lead as the series heads east, 12 over Anderson in second. Justin Barcia put himself back on the box in Anaheim. "I was really uncomfortable all day. It doesn't help that they've been building the track gnarlier than maybe even any other year, so it's just a bunch of stuff collapsing and it's just not good right now. Nonetheless, I'm going to con nue working on myself and try to improve every weekend. We have to find a bike setup that works for me. It's definitely not enough right now in order to compete with those guys out there. It's a tough pill to swallow, but we're not giving up." 23 CHASE SEXTON 7TH 450SX "Anaheim 3 was a challenge all day," Sexton said. "I didn't feel that great with the whoops sec on or the track itself; it wasn't a good combina on for me. I felt decent halfway through the main event and then made some mistakes, got squirrely a few mes and lost ground. It was a frustra ng night for me; I lost a good amount of points. I'm going to have to turn it back up when we go East. I'm going back to Florida this week, so I'm happy to go home and get back to a normal schedule." SHIMODA DOWN, MARCHBANKS UP The first 250SX West heat race of the night saw a great battle brewing up between Jo Shimoda and Garrett Marchbanks. Shimoda looked to scrub the final double in the rhythm lane and get to the inside to put Marchbanks up high. Unfortunately, he slid off the lip, clipped a foot, and got launched into the upcoming berm. Shimoda was carted off the track while Marchbanks won the heat. Shimoda did not line up for the main, while Marchbanks logged a fourth. Briefly... BETWEEN A ROCZEN AND A HARD PLACE Feels like all too often we are writing about a night that didn't go Ken Roczen's way. The fan- favorite got stuck with a Tuff Block in turn one in the main event. He didn't technically crash, he did get shuffled back to dead last. An 11th was all he could salvage in Anaheim. Roczen has yet to finish on the podium since his win at A1 and now sits ninth in the standings. Anaheim 3 Supercross 450SX Highlights
