Lawrence, Swoll, Shimoda Okay After Anaheim 3 Supercross Crashes H onda HRC's Hunter Lawrence says he's okay after his hard get-off in the whoops while run- ning in second place during the 250SX West main event at the Anaheim 3 Supercross. "It was obviously a bit of a scare, with what could've been something pretty bad, but it checked out to be all okay as far as my body is concerned," said Lawrence. "We were really going for the win, so we were laying it out there. Second place seemed like the easy option, as we had extended a pretty good gap on third, but I was pushing for the win—I felt like that was a pretty defining race in the champion- ship, and I wanted to go for it. The whoops were super-gnarly, and going at full speed and pushing as fast as you can every lap, it's how the sport can be sometimes." Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Jalek Swoll also suffered a hard crash in the whoops and called it an early night. He reported no major injuries, saying, "...will put in some work and come back swinging." Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/ Kawasaki's Jo Shimoda did not return after getting flicked off his bike during a 250SX heat race. The team issued a statement saying, "Fortunately, after having some scans done at the hospital there was no serious injury, and at this point, we're confident we'll see a fast and determined Jo back in six weeks at Seattle." CN VOLUME 59 ISSUE 7 FEBRUARY 15, 2022 P25 Hunter Lawrence says he's not seriously injured after his Anaheim 3 crash. Jalek Swoll and Jo Shimoda, who both crashed during the night as well, also escaped serious injuries.
