ROUND 6 / FEBRUARY 12, 2022
ANGEL STADIUM OF ANAHEIM / ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA

SUPERCROSS I MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES
with three wins out of five rounds
to his credit, and a solid lead in
the championship. With round
six being the last race before the
250SX West break, it was time
to put in a statement ride and
carry that momentum.
He did just that. The num-
ber-28 Monster Energy Star
Racing Yamaha logged another
fast lap in qualifying, backed
it up with a heat race win, and
went wire-to-wire in the night's
main event. Craig did feel pres-
250SX West
While the unpredictability of the
450 class isn't as prevalent in the
250SX West class, there's been
no shortage of drama from the
little bikes. The whoop section
claimed a number of victims, but it
was Christian Craig who put down
another perfect day to sweep all
three Anaheim races this year.
Craig is the man to beat in the
250SX West class without ques-
tion. He came into Anaheim 3
seems to have good luck inside
Angel Stadium, posting two of
his three podiums this year in
Anaheim. Barcia won his heat
race earlier in the night and then
ran behind Marvin Musquin for
the opening laps in the main.
He later got into podium terri-
tory when Musquin tangled with
a lapper and went down. From
there it was smooth sailing for
the number-51 machine and he
went on to earn his third third-
place finish of the season.
"Heat race was phenomenal,"
Barcia said. "I got off to a good
start, rode smooth and was able
to just do my own thing which
was nice. The main event, I had
a decent start and fought in
the beginning. [Anderson and
Tomac] were hammering up
front and I was behind Marv. We
weren't able to cut that gap soon
enough so once I got around
Marv, I just put in my laps but
couldn't close the gap."
With another podium to his
credit, Barcia is fifth in points, 24
back from the lead.
Christian Craig swept the
Anaheim rounds in the
250SX West main event.
He enjoys a comfortable
points lead going into the
250SX West break.
