Three main events and a "lowest score wins" means every position counts. Consis- tency is key in the Triple Crown format, and both Eli Tomac and Hunter Lawrence held that key, as they came away with the overall wins in their respective classes. Tomac, on the Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha, won two of the three races in the 450SX class, and Lawrence, on the HRC Honda, claimed one win, which coupled with a pair of seconds, was good enough to claim his first win of the year in the 250SX West circuit. VOLUME 59 ISSUE 6 FEBRUARY 8, 2022 P53 Eli Tomac seems to be the breakout rider five rounds into the championship.
