The number-29 is third in
points, 14 back from Craig and
only three down from Lawrence.
Lawrence was solid en route
to second. The Honda rider rode
inside the top five for much of
the main event and struggled
to pass Friese in the process.
This held up Lawrence while the
two leaders got away. Eventu-
ally Lawrence got the spot when
Friese hit the deck and collected
the charging Pro Circuit Kawasa-
ki of Jo Shimoda in the process.
Lawrence is clear that he wants
to win and does not seem at all
satisfied with these second- and
third-place finishes.
"I had a few close calls in
the whoops, they were sketchy
especially on the right side,"
Lawrence said. "Just didn't quite
have the edge, the boys were
pushing a really good pace, and
I was just third-best tonight."
His consistency is paying off
as Lawrence sits second in the
standings, 11 back from Craig.
