T
he San Diego Supercross is one of the most unique stops
on the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series. For start-
ers, Petco Park sits smack-dab in the middle of downtown
San Diego, the pits are about half-mile from the stadium, and
Supercross takes over the entirety of the cityscape. This round
also serves as the military appreciation night where riders and
teams break out some cool one-off gear and graphics to pay
respects to the armed forces. Fans were treated to some close
racing, new winners and another shake-up in the point standings.
In the 450SX class, Chase Sexton broke through for his first
career 450-class win, while Michael Mosiman also did the same
in the 250SX West main event. But it was the veteran, Eli Tomac,
who grabbed the 450SX red plate.
