T
o believe the hype or to not
believe the hype, that is
the question. The Anaheim
1 Supercross is unlike any other
race on the schedule and with it
comes a whirlwind of hype, buzz
and speculation.
The vibe was, as usual, electric
all day at Angel Stadium. It was
the first Anaheim race since 2020
and a sold-out crowd packed the
stadium to welcome in the 2022
season. Anaheim kicks off the
new year and everyone is eager
to strut their stuff, show off their
new colors, and lay to rest any
unwarranted rumors. Former
Supercross champ Eli Tomac
made his Yamaha debut, as did
Jason Anderson on the factory
Kawasaki, Aaron Plessinger on
the factory KTM, and Malcolm
Stewart on the factory Husqvar-
na. You also had the defending
champ Cooper Webb racing
for the first time since parting
company with his former trainer,
Aldon Baker, and Pro Motocross
Champion Dylan Ferrandis return-
