The Z Turns 50

awasaki's iconic Z1 900 is
turning 50 this year, and the
brand is celebrating the occasion
by painting four of their Z models,
the Z900, Z650 Z900RS and
Z650RS street bikes, in red.
The Z 50th Anniversary edi-
tions of the Z900 and Z650 will
be cloaked in the "Firecracker
Red" paint scheme, similar to
that found on the 1981 Z1100GP.
The Z900RS and new-for-2022
Z650RS will be painted in the
"Fireball" colorway originally
seen on the first 1972 Z1.
Limited production will apply
to each of these models and a
special coffee table book com-
memorating the 50 years of the Z
brand will be included as a gift for
each customer who purchases
a Z 50th Anniversary Edition
model.
The 50th Anniversary Z900
will retail for $9499 MSRP; the
Z650 for $8299, Z900RS for
$12,049 MSRP and the Z650RS
for $9249.
