A Look
t's been 13 years since Nicky Hayden won in the return
of Grand Prix racing to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
We take a look back at those past Grands Prix through
the lens of Grand Prix photographer Gold & Goose.
2005 Hayden's Fairy Tale
•23-year-old Nicky Hayden wins his first-ever MotoGP
in front of a U.S. Grand Prix crowd of 57,932 partisan
fans.
•It's the first U.S. Grand Prix in 11 years.
•Colin Edwards finishes second, giving the U.S. its
first one-two finish in the premiere class since Wayne
Rainey and Kevin Schwantz in 1993.
•Valentino Rossi finishes third after getting passed by
his Yamaha teammate Edwards late in the race.
