MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
RINS… BARELY

through, but it was only for a
lap.
Rins tried unsuccessfully to run away, and as the
end approached the battle
intensified. With four laps to
go, title leader Salom took
over, and even secured a little
gap as they started the final
tour. It looked as though he
might have done enough, but Rins had other ideas.
He outbraked him at the bottom of the hill into the
penultimate corner, and managed to keep him at bay
by .232 of a second.
Vinales was barely one hundredth behind, looking

three crossed the line within a quarter of a second.
Salom still has a handy lead overall, 172 points to
Vinales' 158 and Rins on 142. Folger is dropping away
with 81 and Marquez has 70.

Red Bull KTM's Luis Salom
and Calvo KTM's Maverick

lap three, then hanging on grimly in fourth. But he
was on the edge, and when he ran wide on lap eight
he lost the draft, and his speed disadvantage meant
he had no chance of catching up.
Rins led away, and stayed up front until almost half
distance as Salom and Vinales battled each other,
inches behind. The first change in lead was on lap
