ยท '... . We'd like to say thanks to ABC's Wide World of Sports. Thanks for taking The Superbikers into millions of American homes. And us along with it. Because when the dust had settled at Carlsbad, there at center stage for the third year in a row was a bright red Honda. This year it was Danny ~~Magoo" Chandler's turn to take the bows. But only after a tough battle with Team Honda's motocrosser turned roadracer Steve Wise, who had won the event the past two years. Both rode fast and photogenic CR480R-engined machines. And both overcame the best efforts of some of the world's fastest roadracers, motocrossers and flat trackers. Including the Hondas of Andre Malherbe and Roberto Pietri, who also finished in the top ten. So once again Team Honda was the leader in turning Wide World into Wild World.
