North, Marek take two at Swan GNC Qualifier By Gary Willer TYLER, TX, ocr. 10 Novice ace Glenn North really showed his stuff today as .the Grand National Championship Qualifier series continued at Swan MX Raceway. All North did was totally dominate the 125 and 250ccNoviceclasses. On the way, the Kawasaki pilot carved out four first place finishes enroute to a perfect afternoon. Runner-up to North in the 125cc Novice class was Mark Miller with a steady 3-2 performance. Third went to Jeff Arnold 4-3. Mike Griffith (2-4) took second best honors to North in the 250cc Novice battle. John Morell moved into third with a 3-6 finish. Meanwhile, Mini rider Cody Marek took two classes and, like North, he too scored four first place positions. Marek triumphed in the Mini-Mini contest with Jason Schultz (2-3) second and Dwain Carter (3-4) third. Marek made it even sweeter with his double victory in the Mini Junior competition. Second place was Dave A. Shade Jr. (2-2). James A. PrasiEka pounded out third place at 3-3. Also of particular interest today for his standout performance was Mini~ mounted "Very Quick" Kit Vick. The young hotshoe blistered the track on his machine at just one second slower than the fastest lap times turned in today by the bigger bikes. Results TEENY MINI: 1. Ross Dhayer; 2. Todd Wallis; 3. Maschmann, Lunsford duel at Texas Halloween RR Pros Use Durable Steel Structured Tote Wagon To Protect And Transport Up To Three Enduro Or Motocross Bikes OPTIONAL ITEMS * Aluminum loadl... ramp * Work bench * Tle-down system By Chris Thomas AUSTIN, TX, ocr. 30-31 There was a lot of good racing and a little Halloween foolishness today and Saturday at the Texas World Speedway. The foolishness at College Station included business suits over full sets of leathers and one rider even wore a Spiderman outfit over his leathers. This was Halloween weekend and the racing was in the form of an eight-hour endurance race on Saturday, which was won overall by a Honda Supersport ridden by Neasham and McCutcheon. . At today's sprint races, Bobby Goodin won the Open Supebike class on a Suzuki GS and Doug Polen destroyed the Formula One class on his 750cc Honda with Goodin running second. The most exciting race today was the side-by-side battle of Matt Maschmann and Ronnie Lunsford, both on Hondas in the 750cc Superbike race. These riders bumped bars and switched positions all during the race with Maschmann pulling ahead at the finish line. • Results 8 HOUR ENDURANCE RACE: 1. Neasham/McCutcheon; 2. Duncan/Syfan; 3.
