PRODUCT EVALUATION THEPUB C FOR ITS GIANT NETIMEON J WEEKEND Hi-Flite Safety Seat Kit The Hi-Flite Safety Seat Kit comes with a replacement seat cover and a one-piece foam seat that includes the popular safety extension that reaches forward over the gas tank. We received a couple of seat kits and installed them on a Yamaha IT250H and a Suzuki RM250Z. Having installed· more seat covers than, our checkbook would like to admit, we were greatly impressed with the ease of installation. The Hi-Flite seat covers are sewn with attractively stitched seams that· follow the line of the seat base. These lines make it easy to staple or glue the cover to your old seat base the first time, without the worry and headaches of trying to work out all the wrinkles and keep the letters straight. As the covers fit precisely over the new foam cushion, we completed installation in record time. Once in place, our new seat looked good and was even more of a delight to use. The first thing we noticed was that we no longer sat in the saddle, but on top of it. This is due to the high quality aircraft foam that HiFlite's parent company has used in building aircraft seats for years. Because of the firmness, we found it real easy to move around on the seat while racing. Despite the firmness, the Hi-Flight seat was also an excellent shock absorber. We used the seat during the posterior-pounding 230 Checker-mile Check Chase and, after all those miles of desert whoops, we were still able to enjoy sitting down afterward. It was amazing just how well the seat performed! For all the bonuses the Hi-Flight seat offers, we consider the seat's extra half pound in weight a small trade-off. The seat cover is thicker and surprised us by not ripping in a couple of good eats. The gains in rider movement and comfort were well worth the half poun~ and the extremely reasonable price.
