Element ofthe plan illegal. The Vehicle Access Element of the plan is vi tal to motorcyclists beca use of its im pact on trail riding, casua l ri ding and compe tition events. Many of th e AMA's arguments have been cen tered on the principle that the plan as a wh ole was done improperly, and tha t all of the elemen ts of the plan are interdepe ndent. Therefore, if one elem ent is defi cient, the who le pl an sh ould be declared illegal. The judge, by hi s recent decisi on , seem s to have rejected thai concep t. While the whole sit uation seems pretty bleak, this most recen t event may have forced an ap peals court into making an expedited decision on the AMA's appea l of the prelim inary injunction den ial. At its m ost recent mee ting, the AMA Board of Trustees voted to contin ue the legal action against the BLM 's desert plan . There was a full two pages elsewhere in this issue dedicated to Danny LaPorte's championship winning performance in the Swedish 250cc MXGP. Roberts missed th e Sept. 3 San Marino G P in Mugello, Italy and now may miss the season fin al e in Hockenheim, West Germany. Reportedl y, Roberts has no con trol of the small finger on hi s righ t hand. California Senate Bill 2056, the bill introduced by Sena tor Alan Robbins (D-Van Nuys) to req uire the repayment of $8.5 million taken from the state's OHV Fund, di ed in the Assem bly's Ways and Means Committee. Rod and his wife Cheri accepted delivery on Sunday, August 29~ at 6:52 a.m. The American ISDE team has been granted an additional two slots by the Czechoslovakian organizers to raise the team to 30 ' members. Kevin Davis and Alvin McCannon will fill those two slots. Originally granted 35 slots, the team was subsequently cut to 28 .
