A
s it always does, Valencia played
host to the final round of the Mo-
toGP World Championship but this
weekend was unlike any other, as the rac-
ing world gave its biggest icon, Valentino
Rossi, a fitting send off.
The race was taken by the Ducati of
Francesco Bagnaia once again, Rossi's
protégé overhauling the Pramac Ducati of
pole man and Rookie of The Year Jorge
Martin on lap 15. From there, the man
who has been the class rider of the sec-
ond half of 2021 kept his cool in a special
Rossi helmet that paid tribute to his first
Yamaha world title win in 2004, going on
to win by 0.4 seconds from Martin and
teammate Jack Miller.
