V4 SP
T
o ride a Ducati Streetfighter at
speed is an experience in itself.
I've been fortunate to have
done so on many occasions and I can
tell you firsthand, the stock V4 S is
all anyone will ever need in terms of
naked biking madness.
Until it's not.
That's why Ducati has decided to
bring even more bonkers to your bik-
ing bash with the new Streetfighter
V4 SP. As the name suggests, the SP
is a special one, laced with several
goodies like BST carbon wheels, an
STM dry slipper clutch, the latest
generation Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 elec-
tronic suspension, and a smattering
of carbon fiber bits including wings
and mud guards, plus CNC machined
pegs, and a lithium-ion battery.
You still get the raucous 1103cc
Desmosedici Stradale with 208
horsepower and a torque number
of 90.4 lb-ft at 9500 rpm, but the
kicker is this will cost you a very pretty
$35,500 MSRP, which is close to
double the price of the base model
Streetfighter V4 ($19,995) and $10K
more than the V4 S at $25,195.
Hey, if you have to have it, who
cares what it costs?
Oh, we rode a jazzed-up V4 S that's
pretty similar to this V4 SP earlier in
the year, the test of which you can
read here.
