Xavier Artigas (Leopard Racing)
is a Grand Prix winner after the
rookie played it to perfection with
a last corner lunge on Sergio Gar-
cia (Valresa GasGas Aspar Team)
to take the Valenica Grand Prix
win. Jaume Masia (Red Bull KTM
Ajo) rounded out the season on
the rostrum in third, with drama
earlier on the final lap as contact
between Dennis Foggia (Leopard
Racing) and World Champion
Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo)
saw the latter crash out.
Acosta takes the title with 259
points, ahead of Foggia's 216 and
Garcia's 188.
In the end, Fernandez won ahead
of Fabio Di Giannantonio (Gresini
Kalex) by half a second and Marc
VDS Kalex rider Augusto Fernan-

claimed fourth ahead of Aron Canet
(GasGas Kalex), with Xavi Vierge
(Petronas Kalex), Sam Lowes
(Marc VDS Kalex), Jorge Navarro
(Termozeta Speed Up), Marcel
Schrotter (Liqui Moly Intact GP) and
Gardner rounding out the top 10.
Cameron Beaubier finished the
race 21st and Joe Roberts didn't
start due to a shoulder injury.
Gardner takes the title on 311
points to Fernandez's 307 with
Marco Bezzecchi (Sky VR46 Kalex)
third with 214. Gardner, Fernandez,

In an incredibly tense race, Raul
Fernandez (Red Bull KTM) took
his eighth win of the season but
it was teammate Remy Gardner
who became just the second son
of a champion to take a world
title win with 10th place. He also
became the second Australian
to win the intermediate class title
after Kel Carruthers in 1969.
There was only four points in it
as Gardner had to finish 13th or
better and Fernandez had to win
regardless, and with four laps to go
it looked as though the Spaniard
might steal an unlikely title with
several riders including Tom Luthi
(Kalex) and Tetsuta Nagashima
breathing down Gardner's neck.
